I started seeing Dr. Burk in July of 2009, at which time I was in a great deal of discomfort and pain due to an irritated sciatic nerve which was being chafed as it exited two vertebrae in the lumbar area.

The pain was so severe at times that I could hardly walk. If I continued to walk the pain would shoot down my leg and cause a burning sensation, forced me to stay off my feet.  The only way I could get any relief was to take two Advil pain killers.

Over a period of the next 8 months Dr. Burk worked with me, gradually reducing my discomfort, and for the last three months I have experienced absolutely no pain what so ever in my leg.

Now, in September of 2010, we are down to one maintenance session a week. I would highly recommend Dr. Burk to anyone needing chiropractic assistance. He has given me my mobility back.

It will go away, it always does. That’s what I told myself again. Just a few days, I can take it. Three weeks later with no relief, not even medication helped, I knew there was no way I would be able to get an appointment today, it was the day before Thanksgiving. I had to try, so I called.  From the beginning of the call I had hope. Dr. Burk’s office was able to see me that day, everyone in the office made me feel like they cared. Every step in the process was explained to me, in terms I can understand and it was my choice to follow through with treatment. It has been one of the best choices I ever made. I continue to choose to return to Dr. Burk’s office and I have been feeling great.  I have a better understanding of how and why my body does what it does now and have a lifelong friendship with everyone at Dr. Burk’s. They not only treat the physical- it helps the emotional part too.

For several months, I had been experiencing excruciating pain in my right buttocks and down my right leg into my ankle. It was related to my back, and it was very debilitating.  I had seen my primary care physician several times, had an MRI, physical therapy, and an epidural. When all of that failed to give me relief, I was seen by an orthopedic surgeon.

Just prior to my scheduling back surgery, a friend gave me a brochure that provided information on the COX decompression adjustment and manipulation technic for the cervical spine. I learned that Dr. Burk was certified to provide patient services using the COX Technic. I call his office and spoke to him. He offered a free consultation in his office.

Prior to the appointment, I provided him with my x-rays, MRI films and the radiologist’s summary of my condition. After reviewing these items, Dr. Burk felt he could help me. I went for the consultation and Dr. Burk provided me with more information than I had received from my primary care physician or the orthopedic surgeon. He was able to demonstrate it using a very graphic and informative computer program.

I began my treatment with Dr.Burk on September 4, 2008. This treatment included physical therapy, exercises, ultrasound, and gentle stretching and manipulation of my back. It was an ongoing process that brought me relief.
Today I am pain free and absolutely will not be scheduling any back surgery. I am also back to playing golf, which I had not been able to do for many months.  I have Dr. Burk to thank for that.  Thank you Dr. Burk!

Being a patient of Dr. Burk for many years…he keeps me straightened out …I am an advocate of chiropractic cares. When pain showed up in my left hip (at first) I headed to the doctor. Thinking I would be good as new afterwards, I was concerned when I felt worse..So, back I went, 2 times a day. I was scared because at 64 I had prided myself thru regular exercise, diet and clean living. Figured I’d be agile into my 90’s.

Before I came to Dr. Burk, I believe that I was never going to walk again. It was very difficult for me. It was very painful. My body ached, and no drugs helped relieve it. A friend of mine recommended me to Dr. Burk, and I had nothing else to lose.

When Dr. Burk did my first adjustment, I felt relief right away. That's what encouraged me to return. I was using a cane to walk , and eventually in two weeks I stopped using it. Dr. Burk has been my doctor for 90 days. I went to him for a back problem (ruptured disc). I was able to walk without pain after four treatments… so I mentioned my neck injury I had received a year earlier.
I had been having headache's, lost some vision in my left eye, both shoulders and arms were in pain all the time, also the fingers on both hands were numb. I had lost some strength and control of my left arm. I am now writing this on 9-11-97 and my arms, shoulders, hands, and headache problems are gone and my left eye is improving.

I first came to Dr Burk because I had been to every kind of doctor there was to find out what was wrong and to stop the pain. No one could help. All they would do is give me more pills. I was having seizures three times a day, had lost my driver's license, and was on three different types of medication. Nothing was working. Dr Burk ran a scan on my back, and everything was so bad it was off the chart. Dr Burk explained what everything meant and after several adjustments I started to notice changes. My seizures had stopped being so out of control, the headaches were less, and I even noticed that my jaw didn't crack and pop like it used to. On the 11th month of 1996 I was injured on the job and was sent to see the Work Comp Doctor. He sent me to physical therapy for strained Rotator Cuff, this treatment just increased the pain. After about 5 months of x-rays and drugs I was then sent to a surgeon who said the joint in my shoulder needs to be removed and a piece of bone also. I then got a second opinion from Dr. Burk.

Dr Burk is very kind and radiates in a manner that set me at ease right away. My apprehension passed quickly. I feel that he knows his craft well and performs admirably.
